Who is Amy Fisher?

Amy Elizabeth Fisher is an American woman who came to the flashlight
when shot Mary Jo Buttafuoco, who is the wife of her illicit lover, Joey
Buttafuoco. She was a 17-year old teenager when she shot Mary Jo.
On May 19, 1992, it was a sunny spring day like any other day. The weather
was warm. Mary Jo was busy doing daily chores. She has decided to spend
the rest day-time painting some backyard benches. Joey, her husband, was
left for work early in the day and children were off at school.
Mary Jo was alone at home when the doorbell rang. It was Amy Fisher on
the door. There was only a few feet distance between Mary Jo and Amy.
Amy was telling Mary Jo that Joey is having an affair with her little sister
(Imaginary). Mrs Buttafuoco thought the girl to be mischievous. She denied
the statements made by her and responded in a fun way

Mary Jo said that she’ll call her husband to let him know about your arrival.
It’s the moment when Mary Jo turned to shut the door. The very moment,
Fisher brutally shot Mary Jo with a gun in a rage of jealousy. In the same
moment, Mary Jo fell backwards on Amy. However, Amy chose to run away
speedily leaving Mary Jo lying unconscious with a bullet shot.
After the incident, Amy Fisher got arrested. Initially, she was accussed with
attempted murder in first degree. Later, she pleaded guilty to assault with
aggravated first degree. She was sentenced to serve 5 to 15 years in
custodial prison. After years, Mary Jo publicly forgave Amy under a new
plea agreement. After which, Fisher was released in 1999 on parole. She
served 7 years in Jail.

After 1999 parole, Fisher became a columnist in Long Island Press. While
working for Press, she received the Media Award for News/Column from
the Society of Professional Journalists in 2004.
In 2004, she also wrote an autobiography called If I Knew Then…. The book
became a New York Times Bestseller in a short time. Moreover, she worked
for prisoner’s rights as an active advocate.
Later in 2006, Amy Fisher reunited with Mary Jo on a Television show
Entertainment Tonight and its spin-off series, The Insider. Fisher also
appeared with Joey Buttafuoco after years at the Lingerie Bowl in 2006. In
May 2007, Fisher and Joey were said to appear in a reality Television show.

In January 2008, Fisher settled her case with Red Light District. She made a

movie name was Amy Fisher: Totally Nude & Exposed. Further, she
contracted with Lee Entertainment. She signed an agreement to become a

In 2003, Amy Fisher married Lou Bellera when she was 29 or 30 years old.
He was a former police officer in the New York Police Department back

profile.
They had two daughters and one son. The name of her son was Brett who
was born in 2001. One of her daughters was named Ava Rose who was born
in 2005.
In May 2007, Fisher left her husband.They
reconciled after she agreed to work with the Red Light District.
Amy Fisher and Louis Bellera divorced and separated in 2015. At the time,
Fisher said that it was never her choice to work as a pornographic actress.
Continuing further, she said that “I was never happy doing it, and he would
just sit there and watch, even while I cried.”

After all these events, Fisher found it hard to live in her Florida house.

school psychologist even suggested he drop out and get his GED.”

harassed Fisher by jumping the fence of her gated community.
“I was really scared,” she said. “I want me and my children to be safe. I don’t
want any lunatics coming after me.”
As of 2021, Fisher is back to her old place – Long Island. Reports said that
she resides in a home less than an hour’s drive from her crime scene.
She changed her name legally. She is happy living with her mom, aunt, and
Italian family. She said, “My children have cousins they can play with.”
