Have you ever been in that situation where you plan a vacation, take a flight over to your target destination, and unpack your bags only to find you forgot some important item(s?)

We’ve all been there. And it’s frustrating!

Luckily, we’re here to present you with a vacation packing list of all the necessary items. Feel free to mark these off as you go or ignore whatever doesn’t fit your needs.

The Right Attire

Beach day? Carnival? Maybe hiking in the glaciers of Iceland?

Whatever it is that you plan to do, you’re going to need to right clothing and related equipment to enjoy your vacation to the fullest extent. That means packing your bathing suit(s) for the beach days or alternatively making sure to pack enough clothing to bundle up if you’re exploring an ice cave.

If you plan to go to a beautiful beach destination such as Eleuthera, you can learn more about what you need here.

Cameras: You Want Pictures Right?

What makes going to vacation so memorable is looking back on the beautiful photos you take, some five or ten years later down the line. For this, you’ll need a quality camera.

Luckily, our phones these days are equipped with high-quality cameras able to produce photos and videos in an instant. This already nullifies the need for more equipment.

But if you plan to take professional photography or polaroids, you’ll need a camera. Be sure to pack whatever camera fits your specific needs. You might even be interested in camera lens rentals!

Beneficial Technology

Living in the 21st century means we have access to plenty of useful techniques that are often synonymous with travel essentials. You’ll want to pack some of these items listed below to make the most of your vacation:

  • Portable chargers
  • Power banks
  • Portable Wi-Fi
  • Watches
  • Earbuds/Headphones
  • Laptops for on-the-go work

If you have kids, you can also bring along their gaming consoles to keep them entertained while on the flight or drive over.

Luggage Safety Devices

The chance of losing your luggage at the airport is quite small, though that doesn’t mean it’s not possible! There are thieves everywhere, too, so luggage theft is also a concern.

You can mitigate the chance of losing your luggage by investing in luggage safety devices. These can look like smart locks, bright-colored tags, straps, or even Bluetooth tracking tags!

Toiletries/Cosmetics

These again, depending on where you’re going. If you plan to spend a lot of time outdoors, you’ll want to take plenty of sunscreens, but you might not need them if you’ll be at the hotel most of the time.

Otherwise, some good toiletries and cosmetics to take along include:

  • Toothbrushes/Toothpaste
  • Specialized lotions/creams
  • Makeup
  • Deodorant
  • Medication (pain relievers, antihistamines, fever reducers)
  • Lip balm
  • Period products

And anything else you might specifically need. Don’t forget to pack your personal medication either!

Other Vacation Packing List Necessities: Documents

If you travel in-state or in-country, you won’t need something like a passport. But anytime you leave your country’s borders, you’ll need a passport.

Other forms of documents that you need to bring include a valid I.D., vaccination card, insurance card, credit/debit cards, and cash.
