Among the all-time best marijuana movies, there are a few that stand out in our opinion. Some of these films include Cheech and Chong, Inception, Friday, Pineapple Express, and Friday, to name a few. While looking for a wedding cake strain and thinking of ways to grow cannabis, we recommend you watch them. What ensues is a series of “misadventures” that will leave you laughing.
Cheech and Chong
A classic stoner movie, “High Times” features a climactic scene featuring a massive joint of a mysterious strain called Labrador. The movie features a vodka-swilling judge, a whacked-out woman snorting Ajax, and Cheech and Chong’s comedic chemistry. It is also a good film to watch if you’re looking for some good laughs.
Inception
Inception isn’t strictly a stoner movie, but it is a very popular film that has a lot to offer. While Inception isn’t recommended for those who are just trying to get stoned, it is definitely one of the best movies to watch. If you’ve never seen it before, you’re missing out! This film is so visually stunning that you might find yourself unable to function without a heavy dose of marijuana, and it’s not just about the movie.
Pineapple Express
If you’re looking for a fun, light-hearted movie about pot, then you’ve come to the right place. The Pineapple Express follows two underachieving friends, Jason and Kevin, as they attempt to get through their college entrance exam by smoking pot. The cannabis grows and the two have to revert to studying textbooks. This hilarious movie features lots of marijuana-smoking scenes, which are sure to make you laugh out loud.
Friday
The most famous and iconic marijuana film is Reefer Madness. This 1936 propaganda film was a major hit in the 1970s, as a result of its melodramatic messaging. The movie follows the lives of two teenage girls who become addicted to marijuana. In one scene, the teenage girls run down a pedestrian, kill their parents, and begin to dance like Elaine Benes from Seinfeld. While the movie is based on true events, it remains a classic despite its controversial messages.
Jason Sudekis
If you are a cannabis enthusiast, you need to watch the best marijuana movies of all time. This list includes movies starring Jason Sudekis, like “Ragtime,” which is a hilarious comedy about a pot dealer who becomes a millionaire by smuggling two tons of marijuana. The list is based on its humor, but it also contains some pot-themed movies that aren’t exactly good for your health.
Salma Hayek
One of the most popular actors in Hollywood today, Salma Hayek is also an activist for women’s rights. Hayek was born in Mexico and grew up in Coatzacoalcos. When she was twelve, she moved to the United States to attend the Academy of the Sacred Heart. After graduating from high school, Hayek returned to Mexico to pursue higher education. She now calls herself a feminist.
James Franco
If you love marijuana and have ever watched a stoner movie, chances are you’ll enjoy “This Is the End,” one of James Franco’s all time favorite films. Starring Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel, it follows Seth at a James Franco house party as he mashes up old friends and makes new ones. But, the movie’s plot is a little more complicated than it appears.
Kevin Smith
Filmmaker Kevin Smith is no stranger to the cannabis industry. The actor, comic book writer, podcaster, and public speaker reshaped himself as a stoner in “Clerks” in 1994, and his upcoming movie, Hollyweed, is another example of his emergence in the marijuana industry. His recent films, “Boyhood” and “Red State,” have received critical acclaim and are still one of the best selling movies of the year. His films have become icons in their own right.
